For many, having a sleepover at their favorite museum is the ultimate childhood fantasy. What’s the version for the lifelong soccer fanatic? Watching the World Cup from your own private suite at the stadium. Marriott is making that a reality for some fans at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where the final match between Argentina and Spain will take place on Saturday. I was so curious what a “sleepover suite” would look like that I went to New Jersey myself to see.

Upon entering at the suite level, I saw the freshly sheeted king-size bed, big and fluffy pillows, and slippers and robes laid out. But beyond the bed, Marriott has transformed the room into a football lover’s paradise. As you walk through the space, you also see a table for dining and rows of stadium seats in case you don’t want to lounge in bed all day. Need a hydration break? The mini-fridge is stocked with refreshments. The suite removes you from the chaos of the grandstands while still letting you feel like you’re getting the fan experience. There are framed international football photos on every wall, including a shot of Erling Haaland of Norway and Vinicius Júnio of Brazil. Official FIFA merch galore is available for the guests, with potted plants to warm up the room.
