The bodies of a 41-year-old man, a woman aged 39, and an eight-year-old child, all from the same family, were found at a property in Ballymena, Northern Ireland18:50, 17 Jul 2026Updated 18:50, 17 Jul 2026Police have issued an update after a mum, her daughter and a man died in a suspected double murder suicide in Northern Ireland.‌The bodies of a 41-year-old man, a woman aged 39 and an eight-year-old child, all from the same family and originally from Poland, were discovered at a property in the Old Cullybackey Road area of Ballymena on Monday.‌Police attended the incident at around 9am and found the bodies inside. Police said they were treating it as a "double murder followed by a sudden death".‌The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has now made a renewed appeal for information after launching a murder investigation.It stated: "Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Major Investigation Team (MIT), who launched a murder investigation following the tragic events in Ballymena, have reiterated their appeal for information.‌"Three family members were found dead in their home in the Cullybackey Road area on Monday morning, 13th July."Detective Inspector Dickson confirmed the 39-year-old woman and her daughter were murdered, and that the investigation into how they along with the man died is ongoing.He repeated that the force is not looking for anyone else over the deaths. “It’s with great sadness that we confirm a woman, aged 39, and her young daughter, aged eight, were murdered," said DI Dickson.‌“Our investigation into their murder, along with the sudden death of the 41-year-old man, will continue. I’m keen to offer assurance that there is no ongoing risk to the public, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with our investigation.”He added that his thoughts were with other family members who have been left "shaken and heartbroken". He continued: “My thoughts at this time are with family members and friends, who have understandably been left both shaken and heartbroken. “This absolute tragedy has saddened the lives of so many, from loved ones to the wider community, and will be felt for many years to come.
