In response to a report by Time magazine, the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, accused Israel of attempting to influence US policy and drag the United States into a war with Iran.
In a post on the social media platform X, Araghchi wrote that while Americans are warned about “foreign influence,” they should also pay attention to what he termed “a massive campaign by Israel to deceive the US administration into an elective and unwinnable war.”
He further claimed that Israel is using US taxpayers’ money to silence its critics inside the United States, adding that “all of this will soon be revealed.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister’s remarks come in the wake of a Time magazine investigation. The report alleges that Donald Trump’s former 2020 campaign manager is leading an Israel-linked media and influence operation designed to sway supporters of the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement into backing Israeli policies.
The report also highlights the activities of a network of media personalities, online activists, and political consultants working to shape conservative public opinion in the United States.
