District Collector Ranjeet Singh has appealed to the public to submit the self enumeration of the population census that commenced on Friday.Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Mr. Ranjeet Singh said the population census would be conducted in two phases. While the self enumeration through https://se.census.gov.in/ would be done between July 17 and 31, census of houses would be completed between August 1 and 30.The public, as part of the self enumeration, can upload the details via this website and they will get an ID, which should be shared with the enumerator during his or her visit to the house.The Corporation Commissioners of municipalities, Executive Officers of town panchayats, tahsildars of other rural areas would be in-charge of the population census to be done in their respective areas.Tenkasi district had been divided into 2,298 housing blocks for simplifying the exercise to be carried out by 2,374 trained enumerators and 397 supervisors, the Collector said.
