The skin has a lot to contend with come summer: heat, sun, humidity, sweat. This can lead to skin issues, such as breakouts and sun damage. Obviously, the products that worked in the colder weather aren’t going to cut it once the temperature rises. But it can be tricky to know where to start: Should I be double cleansing? Should I retire my retinol until the fall? Should I be exfoliating more or less? So I gathered a few of the Strategist beauty-team members to discuss how exactly we’re all shifting our skin care with the seasons.

Dominique Pariso: So I wanted to start by asking about the most simple swap at the ground level, which is cleansers. Do you all do anything differently? Change your products, stick to the same thing, cleanse more, etc.?
Arielle Avila: I’ve been cleansing more because I’ve been wearing so much sunscreen. I’ve been doing a double cleanse almost every day, I think. And I usually don’t in the winter. Right now, I’m doing the True Botanicals balm and then the Osea Ocean Cleanser Purifying Face Wash.
