The Kogi State Police Command has said that the four victims rescued on Thursday have been handed over to the appropriate authorities and are receiving the necessary care and support.

This was disclosed on Friday by the Commissioner of Police, Bello Kankarofi, during a news conference at the command headquarters in Lokoja.

Four students writing the ongoing National Examinations Council examination, alongside the principal and an ad hoc NECO staff member, were abducted on Tuesday when armed bandits attacked Government Secondary School, Olowa Agbajo, in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The victims were successfully rescued on Thursday by security operatives following the massive deployment of security personnel on the orders of the state governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo.

Addressing the press conference, the Commissioner of Police, Bello Kankarofi, said all four victims were successfully rescued and reunited with the appropriate authorities, where they are receiving the necessary support.
