We have enough to worry about in this country. We have a literal judicial commission running. We have crime, inflation, and a state that is slowly dissolving into the earth. We do not need our grocery store behaving like a dramatic teenager on TikTok.
South Africa has a Woolworths problem.
Every time we think we have a handle on our national trauma, along comes Woolies with its toxic, entitled main character energy. It stands in the corner of our news feeds, snaps its fingers, and hijacks the entire story.
We are tired of this.
Why can’t Woolworths be more like Pick n Pay? Pick n Pay is normal. Pick n Pay is currently in intensive care, quietly struggling with its corporate restructuring like a respectable middle-aged dad. They don't bother anyone.
