The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) has launched a call for tender for the acquisition, delivery, installation, and maintenance of Italy’s forthcoming Innovate supercomputer.

Set to be the first 'industrial-grade' supercomputer deployed by the EuroHPC JU, Innovate will be hosted by CINECA at the DAMA Tecnopolo in Bologna and operated by the Innovate Consortium, which is comprised of a number of Italian industrial and research organizations.

The tender description states that the Innovate project “aims to deliver an industrial-grade HPC system that will provide advanced computing, AI, cloud, and data processing services for European industry.”

The tender has an estimated total value of €11.6 million ($13.3m), of which the EU has contributed €4.1 million ($4.6m) through the Digital Europe Programme. The deadline for submissions is September 8, 2026.
