IPS Anurag Kumar has been appointed as the new Delhi Police Commissioner, replacing Satish Golcha for the top post of the capital’s police force.According to an order issued by the Union Home Ministry on June 17, 2026, the 1994-batch officer will assume charge as the new chief of the police force.“With the approval of the Competent Authority, Anurag Kumar, IPS, is hereby appointed as Commissioner of Police, Delhi, with effect from the date of assumption of charge and until further orders,” the Ministry of Home Affairs said in an official order. Who is Anurag Kumar? Career timeline1994: Mr Kumar joined the Indian Police Service as a Direct Recruit after clearing the UPSC exam.
