The Hormozgan Governor’s Office announced that US military airstrikes targeting the province on Thursday evening, July 16, 2026, left two people dead and four others injured in Khamir County.

The Iranian government agency stated that, “in addition to the Kahurestan Bridge, the Geriveh Bridge along the province’s connecting transit routes was also struck.”

The state-run Iran newspaper reported the closure of the highway linking Bandar Abbas and Khamir to Lar and confirmed that the road from Keshar to Kahurestan had also been blocked.

Meanwhile, the Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences announced that one person was killed during Thursday night’s US strike on the “Tappeh Allah-o-Akbar residential neighbourhood” in Bandar Abbas.

According to the medical statement, “eight people were injured in this specific attack; seven sustained blast-related shock injuries, and one person suffered bone fractures.”
