State news agency IRNA reported on Sunday, July 12, that a telecommunications employee was killed and two others were injured during military strikes in Hormozgan Province amid a resurgence of hostilities between Iran and the United States.

According to IRNA, following recent strikes on Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, and Bandar Lengeh, the Farur area in Bandar Lengeh County was also targeted. The agency reported that during the attack on the area, an employee of the Hamrah-e Aval telecommunications company was killed while on duty, and two of his colleagues were wounded.

The IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency identified the deceased individual as Nouh Mahdavi, the head of the Maintenance Department for Hamrah-e Aval in Hormozgan Province, stating that he was killed in a U.S. attack while on a work assignment.

These reports emerged shortly after Hossein Amir-Teymouri, the Governor of Qeshm, announced that 10 to 11 projectiles had struck the island. He claimed that all the targeted locations were strictly military installations and maintained that the strikes resulted in no civilian casualties on Qeshm.

Earlier, Iranian media documented multiple explosions in eastern Bandar Abbas and along the maritime boundary of Qeshm Island. Simultaneously, a senior U.S. official told Axios reporter Barak Ravid that the U.S. military had targeted IRGC missile systems, air defences, and fast-attack boats at several locations surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
