The Telangana Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Friday (July 17, 2026) with a range of administrative and policy issues expected to figure prominently in the discussions. The meeting assumes significance as it will be the first Cabinet session chaired after the appointment of Sanjay Jaju as the State’s new Chief Secretary.One of the key issues likely to be taken up is the poor progress of the monsoon across Telangana and its impact on agriculture, irrigation, and drinking water supply. The Cabinet is expected to review the prevailing weather conditions, rainfall deficit in several districts, and measures required to support farmers if the dry spell continues.The Cabinet is also likely to deliberate on pending approvals from the Union Government, particularly the delay in clearance of the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion and other major infrastructure proposals submitted by the State.
