The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, have thrown their weight behind the Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria’s N2 billion Endowment Fund, describing it as a landmark initiative that will deepen charity, strengthen national cohesion and provide sustainable support for vulnerable Nigerians.
The leaders spoke on Thursday in Abuja at the official unveiling of the KSM Nigeria Endowment Fund and Integrated Charity Initiative, a long-term financing mechanism designed to fund the Catholic Order’s humanitarian programmes through investment returns rather than periodic fundraising.
Represented by his Special Assistant, Chief Simon Tyungu, Akume said the initiative symbolises the institutionalisation of compassion, the sustainability of charity and the deliberate investment in humanity.
