Private school owners in Ogun State have begun refunding parents who paid for nursery and kindergarten graduation ceremonies following the state government directive restricting such events to terminal classes.

The Chairman of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Folorunso Famiwo, disclosed this during a delegates’ meeting attended by representatives from the 20 local government areas, education officials and other stakeholders, held on Thursday.

Recall that the Ogun State Government in June restricted end-of-session graduation ceremonies to learners in Primary 6, JSS3, and SSS3 across public and private schools.

The directive was contained in a circular issued by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and signed by the Director of Education (Private Schools), A.A. Bisiriyu, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary.
