Two residents of Osogbo, Osun State, were reportedly killed, while about eight others sustained injuries in separate attacks allegedly carried out by suspected hoodlums in different parts of the state capital.
The incidents, which occurred between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, also left about 19 vehicles vandalised.
Residents of the Owode-Igbona area of Osogbo, where the first attack happened, who craved anonymity to avoid being targeted, told our correspondent that some suspected hoodlums had attacked some All Progressives Congress members said to be holding a meeting in the area on Wednesday.
Speaking with journalists at the hospital where he was receiving treatment during a visit by the leadership of the APC Campaign Council on Thursday, a survivor of the attack, Ogundele Awosola, said the perpetrators attacked him and others who recently dumped Accord for the APC.
Awosola said, “Yesterday night, we were having a meeting with my people. We were in Accord before but joined APC recently. We saw a white bus and another vehicle and thought they were policemen, so we did not run.
