The Lagos State Government has released the harmonised 2026/2027 academic calendar for all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state.
The calendar, posted on the state government’s X handle, was announced on Thursday by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, following consultations with education stakeholders facilitated by the Office of Education Quality Assurance.
According to the commissioner, the calendar was finalised after two stakeholders’ meetings during which participants reviewed and agreed on key dates for the new academic session.
“The approved calendar outlines school resumption dates, mid-term breaks, examination periods and holidays. It is designed to help schools, teachers, parents and students plan effectively throughout the session,” the statement read.
Alli-Balogun said the unified calendar reflects the state government’s commitment to improving the quality of education and ensuring a well-organised academic year.
