MANILA, Philippines – Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) saw its earnings ease slightly in the first half of 2026 as a sharp increase in provisions offset strong growth across its core businesses.

On Thursday, the Ayala-led bank reported a net income of P32.8 billion for the January-to-June period, down 0.4 percent from P33 billion a year earlier.

“Strong revenue growth across its key businesses supported earnings amid higher operating expenses and provisions,” BPI said.
