Dana Gas shut down operations at Iraq's Khor Mor gas field following credible security threats amid escalating regional tensions.
Iraq's Ministry of Electricity warned the shutdown could result in a loss of approximately 1,400MW of national power capacity.
The Khor Mor field supplies gas to power stations in three cities, generating over 2,000MW of electricity across the Kurdistan region.
Iraq has enacted emergency measures, redistributing loads and utilising available production units to maintain grid stability.
