A Late Bronze Age tomb, dating from 1300 to 2000BCE, has been uncovered within the Pre-Islamic Qattarah Necropolis in Al Ain.
The tomb chamber measures 11 x 2.5 metres and served as a communal burial site for at least 1,000 years, spanning the Wadi Suq to Iron Age periods.
Its entrance faces east, potentially designed to allow the rising sun to illuminate the interior, reflecting deliberate ancient architectural thinking.
The tomb contained weapons, vessels and personal ornaments, providing valuable insight into the funerary practices of ancient Arabian Peninsula communities.
