Award-winning vocalist Brenda Mtambo is returning to the music that first inspired her with "Amahubo Ka Gogo", a heartfelt theatre production that celebrates faith, family and the hymns passed down through generations.

"’Amahubo Ka Gogo’ is deeply personal. It is inspired by my late grandmother, the woman who raised me through song, prayer and discipline," said award-winning vocalist Brenda Mtambo ahead of the premiere of her new show at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg on July 18.

The production is more than a stage show. It is a tribute to the women who shaped families through faith, music and tradition.

Inspired by the hymns, prayers and songs that filled her childhood, “Amahubo Ka Gogo” celebrates family, healing and the memories that connect generations.

"This production is my way of honouring her legacy while creating a space where audiences can reconnect with their own memories, faith and the people who nurtured them spiritually," Mtambo says.
