A murder case was registered for investigation.
Police have arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the alleged murder of his wife in Grasslands Three, Bloemfontein.
Police were called to a house in the area following reports of a suspected murder.
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Mahlomola Kareli, officers spoke to a tenant living on the property, who allegedly arrived home to find the woman's 38-year-old husband highly intoxicated and asleep outside.
Kareli said: “Inside the main house, the tenant made a grim discovery: a 38-year-old female lying supine on the bed, covered with blankets, with blood around her mouth.”
