Highlighting ongoing US military operations against the Islamic Republic, US President Donald Trump declared that Washington will eliminate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) “in the same manner that we defeated ISIS.”
Speaking to Fox News on Wednesday ahead of the annual “Defense and Innovation” summit in Pennsylvania, Trump stated that the Islamic Republic’s threats against his life do not concern him and that his primary focus remains on weakening and destroying the IRGC.
He claimed that the IRGC has lost a major portion of its military capabilities as a result of recent US strikes.
“They have been weakened. Their weaponry has been reduced by about 90 percent. Their drone capabilities, production capacities, missile and rocket launchers, as well as their missile stockpiles, have been severely depleted,” Trump claimed.
The US President added that, just as he defeated ISIS in Iraq and Syria during his first presidential term, he possesses the capability to destroy the IRGC. Concurrently, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the conclusion of a fresh round of overnight strikes against targets inside Iran.
