The Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarters, the body responsible for coordinating and commanding the armed forces of the Islamic Republic during wartime, announced that if the United States attacks Iran’s infrastructure, “all infrastructure in the region” will be targeted in retaliatory strikes.

In a statement published early Thursday, July 16, the headquarters also emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz remains a “red line” for the Islamic Republic, and that the US will “under no circumstances and in no way” be permitted to interfere in the waterway.

“Now that the enemy has targeted Iran’s oil and gas export routes, if aggression against the country’s infrastructure continues, all infrastructure serving the interests of the United States and its allies in the region will be crushed,” the statement read.

This threat comes as the US has, in recent days, resumed its naval blockade of Iran’s southern ports while simultaneously expanding its airstrikes against the Islamic Republic’s military positions in the south of the country.

Concurrently, the spokesperson for the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a warning regarding the continuation of US strikes, stating that if the aggression persists, “the war will be dragged into new arenas.”
