The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released two prominent members of the Obidient Movement, Peter Akah and Oruche Precious, popularly known as Mama Pee, after several hours of questioning.
The duo, known for their support of Peter Obi, honoured an invitation from the anti-graft agency at its headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday and were released around midnight. They were, however, asked to return on Thursday to continue the investigation.
Chidiebere Mark, an activist popularly known as Justice Crack, disclosed the development in a post on X, saying he accompanied Akah and Precious to the EFCC headquarters when they arrived around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
“It was a very long day. They were eventually released at around 12:00 a.m. and were asked to return the following day, 16th July 2026,” he wrote.
The whereabouts of the two supporters had sparked concern on social media on Wednesday evening after news emerged that they were being questioned by the EFCC.
