Nvidia has partnered with Japanese consortium Noetra for the deployment of a Vera Rubin ‘AI Factory’ in Japan.

Built on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin DSX AI factory architecture and set to comprise 13,750 Vera CPUs and 27,5000 Rubin GPUs housed in Nvidia NVL72 racks interconnected by Spectrum-X Ethernet, in total, the deployment will deliver 140MW of data center capacity, the chip giant said.

The cluster will support a project launched by METI (Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) dubbed ‘Development of Multimodal Foundation Models with a View to AI Robotics and Physical AI.

Launched in March, Japan’s AI robotics strategy aims for the country to capture a more than 30 percent share of the global AI robotics market by 2040.
