BBC Animal Park star Kate Humble is celebrating 25 years of the daytime TV show with her co-host Ben Fogle11:18, 16 Jul 2026Kate Humble has been a familiar face on TV for decades.‌The TV presenter is known for her extensive work on wildlife programmes like Springwatch, Living With Nomads, Wild In Africa and Volcano Live among others.‌She's also ventured into property shows, presenting Channel 5's Country Life for Half the Price with Kate Humble, where she assists others in their quest for a simpler, rural lifestyle.‌The 57-year-old can currently be seen on BBC One each weekday morning with her co-star Ben Fogle as they mark the 25th anniversary of Animal Park, the popular television documentary series about the lives of keepers and animals at Longleat Safari and Adventure Park, Wiltshire.But what fans probably don't know is that she started her career in acting - and that she's worked alongside her TV director husband.‌Acting and modellingWimbledon-born Kate maybe well-known for being a TV presenter but she started out as an actress.In 1990, Kate - who said in a Guardian interview that she wanted to be in the circus while growing up - was in a TV production, Spymaker: The Secret Life of Ian Fleming, and was credited as "Lauren Heston … The redhead".She was the assistant to a casting director who was looking for an actress to play a brief nude scene, and she got the job herself. Her co-stars included Jason Connery and Kristin Scott Thomas.‌She also dabbled with modelling. In the Guardian interview she revealed: "I lived in Cape Town, and I was spotted on the street and signed up by a modelling agency. I did about three shoots before I realised I hate having my photograph taken and I like food."Kate started her television career as a researcher, later transferring to presenting programmes such as Top Gear and Tomorrow's World before becoming known for presenting wildlife shows.Married life‌Kate is married to TV producer and director Ludo Graham. Their families were friends, and they first met when she was aged 16 and married when she was 23. The couple live in Monmouthsire on a farm.When asked by The Guardian about the love of her life she replied: "It’s a toss-up between my husband and my dogs, Teg and Mouse."The couple have worked together and when she presented Escape to the Farm on Channel 5, Ludo filmed the series. She told Hello! at the time: "I was quite nervous – I think he was too – but without sounding like an overly adoring wife, he is very good at what he does and has been doing it for a very long time."‌Kate has been very open about not wanting children and said on ITV's Lorraine: "I don't want them, I've never wanted them."She has previously spoken about how as a teenager she realised she was missing what she calls the "maternal gene". During an interview with Woman's Weekly magazine, she said: "I don't think it's anybody's business but I think it's just easier if I just come out and say, 'I don't want them, I've never wanted them'. I know it sounds dreadful but that's just how I feel."Getting nakedKate once took a brisk skinny dip with artist Natasha Brook during an episode of BBC2's Off The Beaten Track.‌"I do like taking my clothes off and feeling at one with nature," Kate shared with the Mirror. She added: "Sometimes I get completely overwhelmed by the beauty of the environment around me and it just seems the most natural way to experience it."The TV presenter also revealed on Rob Brydon's show The Guess List that "if you're in a very beautiful place there is something very celebratory about having a little nudey dance".Kate's spontaneous revelry has won her some unexpected fans as she noted: "The Naturist Society loves me now!
