ByHODAYA RANJULY 16, 2026 11:20An IDF soldier from Bat Yam was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of supplying IDF grenades, ammunition, and other weapons to people in possible connection with a wave of recent grenade attacks in central Israel.Police are investigating his connection to the attacks or whether his arrest could lead them to the person who supplied the grenades.During a search of the soldier’s home, officers from the Tel Aviv District, together with officers from the Yarkon Subdistrict’s crime-fighting unit and investigators from the Special Investigations Unit of the Military Police Criminal Investigation Division, seized dozens of IDF weapons, including grenades, according to police.The arrest came as police received a report of an explosion heard near a residential building in the Kochav Hatzafon neighborhood of north Tel Aviv on Wednesday night, though it's unconfirmed whether the arrested soldier supplied the weapons in the attack.Officers from the Tel Aviv North police station and bomb disposal experts from the Tel Aviv District were dispatched to the scene. An initial examination indicated that the device was believed to be a stun grenade, and no one was injured and no damage was caused. At around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, what was believed to be an IDF stun grenade was thrown at a luxury car lot on Galgalei Haplada Street.
