Delta Anglican Bishop Faces Backlash After Joining APC Leaders To Endorse Tinubu's Re-Election

The critics accused the bishop of increasingly aligning himself with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and urged him to resign from his position if he intends to actively engage in partisan politics.

Some indigenes of the Isoko ethnic nationality in Delta State have criticised the Bishop of the Oleh Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. John Usiwoma Aruakpor, over what they described as his growing involvement in partisan politics following his participation in the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid.

The critics accused the bishop of increasingly aligning himself with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and urged him to resign from his position if he intends to actively engage in partisan politics.

Bishop Aruakpor attended a meeting of APC leaders from the Owhe Clan in Isoko North Local Government Area over the weekend, where participants endorsed President Tinubu for a second term in office.

The meeting, held at the country home of the Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Godwin Ogorugba, in Otor-Igho, also endorsed the re-election of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas.
