Special forces of Ukraine's National Guard have destroyed a Russian Tor surface-to-air missile system worth an estimated $25 million in the temporarily occupied part of the Luhansk region.
According to Ukrinform, the Omega Special Purpose Center of the National Guard reported the strike on Facebook.
"The Tor surface-to-air missile system, named after the god of thunder, turned out to be far less mighty than the Russians believed. Omega operators got to it," the unit said.
According to the statement, fighters from the 4th Separate Detachment of the Omega Special Purpose Center struck the firing position of the Russian air defense system using a Hornet fixed-wing kamikaze drone, whose cost is said to be 5,000 times lower than that of the target.
