The Kebbi State Government has fixed July 27, 2026, for its third inclusive mass wedding programme, with 300 Muslim and Christian couples from the state’s 21 local government areas expected to participate.
Also, Governor Nasir Idris has approved the payment of dowries for all 300 brides, with N250,000 allocated for each, totalling N750m.
The initiative, organised in collaboration with the Nafisa Nasir Charity Development Foundation, will cater for eligible orphans, widows and divorcees who meet all religious, medical and legal requirements for marriage.
Chairman of the Organising Committee and National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, announced the date while briefing journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
