As part of the nationwide special operation Gentlemen-2026, law enforcement officials charged 74 individuals suspected of being involved in the illegal cultivation of narcotic plants and dismantled 12 underground laboratories.
According to Ukrinform, this information was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.
The special operation ran from June 22 to July 13. Its goal was to identify illegal plantations of narcotic plants and to halt the activities of individuals and groups involved in the illegal trafficking of cannabis.
As part of the operation, law enforcement officers conducted 435 searches in 23 regions of Ukraine and in Kyiv.
During the searches, 16,644 cannabis plants, 12,988 opium poppy plants, and 172 kg of processed cannabis were discovered and seized.
