The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has approved the sum of N1.968 billion for payment of examination fees for students at the basic and secondary education levels in the state.

A statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Ummanah in Uyo on Wednesday said the move reflects the governor’s resolve under his ARISE Agenda to sustain the free and compulsory education in the state

The governor directed the Ministry of Education and relevant departments and agencies to ensure urgent compliance and immediate implementation of the approval, with a mandate to facilitate the timely payment of all examination-related fees and prevent any student from being disadvantaged due to financial constraints.
