Australian data centers are in the middle of a significant build cycle. Hyperscale campuses are being announced at a pace not seen before. AirTrunk's APAC expansion, NextDC's $3.1 billion S4 Sydney campus, GreenSquare's AI-ready pipeline, Vantage moving into the region. The investment is real, the demand is real, and the urgency is real.

But something important is being underweighted in the conversation about what it takes to actually operate these facilities at the scale and reliability the market expects.

The problem isn't the hardware. Australia's data center operators are installing world-class BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) systems, solar PV, hybrid microgrid configurations, and grid connection infrastructure. The hardware layer is increasingly sophisticated.

The problem is what happens after the hardware is commissioned.

The monitoring gap is not the problem
