The suspect was later hospitalized for injuries sustained while being subdued before being booked on suspicion of attempted murder. The case has intensified fears over anti-Muslim violence. The victim's manager said, "When you kill a human, you're not just killing one guy. You're killing a whole family," while the Utah Islamic Center's imam said the attack left the entire Muslim community feeling unsafe.
