The KwaZulu-Natal House of Traditional Leaders has welcomed the appointment of inkosi Phathisizwe Chiliza to the position of the Zulu Traditional Prime Minister.

In an historic move, amaZulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini fired Traditional Prime Minister Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi for the second time and replaced him with Chiliza on Tuesday.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional leaders in the province, the chairperson inkosi Sifiso Shinga said as traditional leaders they welcomed Chiliza's appointment and look forward to working with him.

“The House of Traditional Leaders in the province welcomes Inkosi Chiliza’s appointment. He has been a deputy to Reverend Buthelezi and also has been chairperson of the structure I lead now, therefore he has a lot of experience about traditional leadership matters,” said Shinga.
