The Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) mela would be held from Thursday (July 16) for applicants who purchased plots in unauthorised layouts within Kurnool city and have applied for the scheme.Kurnool Municipal Corporation Commissioner Challa Obulesu announced on Wednesday that the fair would be held at the Municipal Corporation meeting hall in the local SBI Employees’ Colony till Saturday (July 18) between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. According to the Commissioner, a total of 2,899 LRS applications were received, of which 1,293 have been approved.For the remaining applications, he said that ‘shortfall intimations’ (notifications regarding missing documents) were issued for 448 applications and fee payment notifications were issued for 532 applications. He added that fees amounting to ₹24.1036 crore have been collected so far.Mr. Obulesu said special counters would be set up to resolve issues related to LRS applications, such as shortfall documents, fee intimations, fee payments, and approval orders, all in one place. The Commissioner advised those who have already applied for the LRS but have pending fee payments or outstanding document submissions to make the most of the opportunity.Applicants could resolve issues on the spot and obtain approval orders with the assistance of Town Planning officials, Planning secretaries, and Licensed Technical Personnel (LTPs).
