Keel Infrastructure, the company formerly known as Bitfarms, just got the green light from the City of Sherbrooke to merge three Bitcoin mining facilities into a single 96 MW campus built for AI and high-performance computing.
The approval, granted on July 13, 2026, covers a land sale valued at roughly $2.2 million CAD and sets the stage for what could become one of Québec’s largest data center developments. The campus is expected to be lease-ready by 2027.
From Bitcoin blocks to AI workloads
The three facilities being consolidated are The Bunker at 48 MW, Leger at 30 MW, and Garlock at 18 MW. Combined, they deliver the 96 MW total that will power the new campus. The development will cover approximately 16,400 square meters.
The land purchase agreement is expected to close in Q1 2027, contingent on further regulatory reviews.
