Amid a fresh wave of security pressure on the Makki Mosque complex in Zahedan, at least four Baloch citizens employed by or associated with the institution were arrested by security forces over the past two days and transferred to an unknown location.

The Haal Vsh news agency identified the detainees as Molavi Hosseinali Harati, Hamed Rigi, Raqib Narouei, a structural engineer for the Makki Mosque, and Narouei’s son.

According to Haal Vsh sources, plainclothes security forces arrested Molavi Hosseinali Harati and Hamed Rigi on a street in Zahedan on Monday, July 13. On Tuesday, July 14, Raqib Narouei and his son were similarly detained and taken to an undisclosed location.

The sources stated that security officials have not explained the reasons for the arrests, the location of detention or any potential charges, leaving the families with no information about the detainees’ status or fate. Local sources reported that these arrests followed escalating security measures targeting the Makki Mosque complex. In recent years, numerous staff members, students and associates of the mosque have faced summonses, detentions and security restrictions.

Local observers view the developments as part of a coordinated effort to intensify pressure on the Makki Mosque and institutions affiliated with Molavi Abdulhamid Ismaeelzahi.
