The US military said it had begun a new wave of ‌strikes against ‌Iran at ‌6 a.m. ET (1000 GMT) on Wednesday.

“The strikes are designed to further degrade ‌military capabilities ‌Iranian forces ‌have ‌used to attack commercial shipping in the ‌Strait of Hormuz,” the US Central Command said in a post on X.

The US carried out a wave of strikes late Tuesday as it reimposed the blockade, striking dozens of targets over seven hours, the US military’s Central Command said.

The US strikes sparked retaliatory drone and missile attacks on nations hosting American forces as the interim deal to end the war further unraveled.

Missile alert warnings went out in Bahrain and Kuwait early Wednesday morning as they faced incoming Iranian fire, something that’s been a daily occurrence, further straining a ceasefire in the war.
