Officers of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command have commenced investigation into the recovery of an illegal firearm and live ammunition concealed in the house of one Edet George, a resident of Ikot Akpan Afaha Village, Uyo Local Government Area of the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, in Uyo on Wednesday.
John said operatives acting on intelligence conducted a search on the residence of the suspect following reports that he habitually harassed community with the firearm.
According to the statement a thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of one single-barrel gun and eight rounds of live cartridges concealed within the residence.
