Priyanka Chopra Jonas: News
One of the highest-paid actors and the most influential global figures from India, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, is an Indian actress, producer, and singer. Chopra returned to India from the USA when she was 16 and started modeling. In 2000, her mother encouraged her to enter the Miss Femina India contest, which she finished second, bagging the Miss India World title. The same year, she was crowned the Miss World 2000 and Miss World Continental Queen of Beauty—Asia & Oceania. Later, she was offered the lead role in 'Humraaz' in 2002, but she eventually made her debut with the 2002 Tamil film 'Thamizhan'. The 2003 Hindi film 'The Hero: Love Story of a Spy' marked her debut in Bollywood. The same year, 'Andaaz' became yet another box-office hit for Chopra, for which she won Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Later, 'Mujhse Shaadi Karogi' and 'Aitraaz' excelled on the big screen and got her numerous accolades. However, from 2006 onward, many of her films did not do well at the box office, including 'Krrish', 'God Tussi Great Ho', and 'Chamku'. But, the 2008 Madhur Bhandarkar directorial 'Fashion' ended her trail of poor-performing films. In 2015, she was cast in the American series 'Quantico', which gave her international recognition. In 2017, she made her Hollywood film debut with 'Baywatch'. Chopra married American singer and actor Nick Jonas in 2008. She released her memoir titled 'Unfinished' in 2021. She is also a philanthropist who works with UNICEF.
