U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday evening that the naval blockade of Iranian ports and coastal zones had officially resumed, effective at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

According to a CENTCOM statement, more than 20 U.S. Navy warships and hundreds of military aircraft are currently operating across the Middle East. The military command emphasised that American forces remain on high alert and possess the full operational capability and readiness required to sustain the mission.

The move follows an earlier CENTCOM warning that U.S. forces had positioned themselves to enforce the maritime cordon in tandem with a fresh wave of airstrikes targeting assets inside Iran.
