President Donald Trump has threatened to dramatically expand US military operations against Iran, warning that American forces could begin targeting the country's power plants and bridges as early as next week unless Tehran agrees to negotiations. Speaking to Fox News, Trump said the strikes would continue for as long as he deems necessary, declaring, “Next week it gets really bad for them because next week comes the power plants. Next week comes the bridges. We’re going to knock out all their power plants. We’re going to knock out all their bridges unless they get to the table and negotiate.” He added that the campaign would continue “until I say it’s enough.”
The warning came as the US carried out a fourth consecutive day of strikes against Iran and reinstated a naval blockade on Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz. According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), the latest seven-hour operation involved fighter jets, drones, naval vessels, and precision-guided munitions targeting missile and drone launch sites, naval assets, and coastal defense systems. The military said the objective was to further reduce Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian crews operating in the strategically vital waterway.
