Toa Samoa, Rugby league

Tonga’s experienced forward Felise Kaufusi wants another chance to face Toa Samoa at this year’s Rugby League World Cup, with last year’s 34-6 defeat still on his mind.

According to the Australian Associated Press, the 34-year-old hopes to play in one final World Cup and help Tonga overcome Samoa when the two sides meet in Parramatta on November 1. The match could decide which team advances to the semi-finals from their pool.

Kaufusi has played four Tests for Tonga against Samoa and has lost each one. The most recent defeat came during last year’s Pacific Championships at Suncorp Stadium, where Toa Samoa claimed a convincing win in front of 44,682 spectators.

The match was delayed for 95 minutes because of a thunderstorm.
