Phase 1 has already energized 1,373 megawatts of solar photovoltaic capacity and 825 megawatts of battery energy storage, making it the world’s largest operational integrated solar and battery facility on a single site. It is expected to provide clean electricity to approximately 2.4 million households, create more than 10,000 jobs and reduce carbon emissions by more than 4.3 million metric tons annually. MANILA, Philippines – Meralco PowerGen Corp. (MGEN) has completed the first phase of its MTerra Solar project in Nueva Ecija, bringing online what it described as the world’s largest integrated solar energy and battery energy storage system on a single site.
The company inaugurated MTerra Solar Phase 1 on Tuesday alongside its project partners, marking a major milestone in one of the country’s biggest renewable energy investments.
