Two people have been killed in a horrific highway crash in Central Victoria.A car and freight truck collided on the McIvor Highway in Heathcote, about 40 minutes southeast of Bendigo, shortly before 10pm on Tuesday.Two people travelling in the car died at the scene.The driver of the truck was uninjured.The intersection of the Northern Highway and McIvor Highway is closed to traffic, while detours are in place along the highway from Knowsley. This marks the second fatal road incident in the region this month. Police are appealing for dashcam footage from anyone who was driving in the area just before the collision.
