The Abia State chapter of the Labour Party has reaffirmed its readiness for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Iroegbu Emenike, disclosed that during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting at the Labour Party state headquarters, “the meeting focused principally on strengthening party cohesion, harmonising structures across the state, and reviewing preparations for the 2027 General Elections.”
At the event were the Labour Party candidates for the 2027 elections, Executive Mayors of the 17 local government areas, Labour Party cxhairmen from the 17 LGAs, LParty stakeholders’ chairmen, members of the State Working Committee (SWC), and other party leaders.
Thosealso in attendance were the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti ; the Deputy Governor, Ikechukwu Emetu; Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emeruwa; Deputy Speaker, Austin Okezie; National Secretary of the Labour Party, Acho Obioma, and lawmakers, among others.
The state chairman, Azubuike was said to have called on all party leaders and stakeholders to remain committed to their responsibilities and work collectively in advancing the ideals and objectives of the Labour Party.
