Ex-Ogun gov Olusegun Osoba
A member representing Obafemi-Owode State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Damilola Soneye, has congratulated former Ogun State Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, on his 87th birthday, describing him as a journalism icon, bridge builder and influential political leader.
In a statement issued on Tuesday to commemorate the former governor’s birthday, Soneye said Osoba’s contributions to journalism and politics had left an enduring impact on Nigeria’s democratic development.
He said Osoba built a distinguished career in journalism before venturing into politics, adding that his influence cut across the media, governance and public service.
According to the lawmaker, Osoba’s years at media organisations, including the Daily Times, Nigerian Herald and Sketch, as well as his tenure as governor, earned him widespread respect.
