Human rights activist and President of the Centre for Change, Joe Okei-Odumakin, has congratulated Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, on his 92nd birthday, describing him as a living legend whose life embodies Nigeria's turbulent history and enduring struggle for justice.

In a statement issued on Sunday, titled "We Celebrate Kongi At 92," Okei-Odumakin praised Soyinka's lifelong dedication to democracy, human rights and national service, saying his contributions have earned him a permanent place in Nigeria's history.

According to Okei-Odumakin, Soyinka's life reflects both the challenges Nigeria has faced over the decades and the ideals for which many citizens have continued to strive.

"Prof. Soyinka's life is a summary of Nigeria's tempestuous history. It is also a manifestation of dedication to the ideals we have lived and strived for as a nation for generations," she said.
