Lily Allen is exchanging arena dates for theaters for most of her upcoming extended U.S. leg for her West End Girl tour, the singer announced on social media on Monday.
While her Sept. 3 show at Madison Square Garden in New York City is going on as planned, Allen said in her post that “we’ve had to make some adjustments” for the shows in Philadelphia, Chicago, L.A., San Francisco and Vancouver. Those shows were originally going to take place at the XFinity Mobile Arena, the United Center, Kia Forum, Chase Center and Rogers Arena, but now, those dates are going to the Greek Theatre, the Paramount Theatre, the Chicago Theatre, the TD Pavilion and the Orpheum. Allen’s Montreal show at the Bell Centre was canceled entirely without a smaller show to replace it.
Allen didn’t give any reason for the switch, though the smaller venues plus the Montreal cancellation had some fans online speculating if ticket sales were strong enough for the larger arena setting. Before this U.S. leg, Allen brought West End Girl mainly to theaters and concert halls in the U.K., Europe and the U.S. The British singer did, however, play arenas in the U.K. for most of the past month, including a date at London’s famed O2 Arena last week.
